Traveling to Morocco, what do I need to know?

Traveling to Morocco 

Following the decision of the Moroccan authorities, you're no longer required to provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test or COVID-19 vaccination certificate to enter Morocco. 

Temperature checks, rapid antigen tests and random PCR tests may also be conducted upon arrival.

Although we endeavor to update this page with any new pertinent travel information, COVID-19 related travel requirements are subject to change and may not be reflected here. Before traveling, please check with your airline and review any applicable information regarding COVID-19 vaccine and testing requirements in Morocco and any countries that you travel through on your way to or from Morocco.

Returning to the United States from Morocco

As of June 12, 2022, CDC no longer requires air passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show a negative COVID-19 viral test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board their flight. 

What is the Morocco’s vaccination status?

Over 80% of Morocco’s population is fully vaccinated. The vaccines that are currently available in Morocco are Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Sinopharm.

I am traveling to Morocco from a country other than the US

Travelers who pass through other countries while traveling between the United States and Morocco may be subject to additional COVID-19 testing or health requirements. Travelers who do not have a direct flight, should review the entry requirements for each country where they will be physically present.

Are PCR and/or antigen tests widely available for in Morocco? 

Yes. Testing is easily available in major cities throughout Morocco. The cost for a PCR test is typically around 400 Dirhams (42USD). Results are usually given in 24 hours or less.

The cost of an antigenic test is typically around 200 Dirhams (21USD). Results are usually given within 1 hour.

How do I find a testing lab?

We will provide you with a list of labs, some of which are open 24/7.

What are the COVID-19 safety measures in place in Morocco?

Although COVID-19 vaccination certificates are no longer required to enter Morocco, we recommend you carry yours (if you have one) with you while you travel. If vaccinated in the United States, we recommend U.S. citizens carry their white CDC card as proof of vaccination.

As for COVID-19 prevention, Morocco has implemented a series of basic measures to create a COVID-secure country:

  • Hygiene stations with hand sanitizer are widely available
  • Private and public establishments often conduct temperature checks
  • Reduced capacity is observed throughout public transport, shopping centers, museums, etc.
